Ad Astra Traffic and the Great Rate Debate

We’ve decided to do something crazy.

Instead of quietly hiding in the shadows, building a client base and the best team in the content production business, we’ve decided to enter the great rate debate.

The controversy over work on the shallow end of the rate pool has intensified lately, as have criticisms of so-called “content mills”.

We’ve decided to be a voice for those who use those markets as part of their overall plan (both on the client and supplier ends). It isn’t the most popular perspective, but we believe we have good arguments and are willing to defend them.

In the meantime, we’ve decided to embrace the usually pejorative term “content mill.” Ad Astra Traffic is a content mill and proud of it!

The title says it all. We’ll be officially opening Ad Astra Traffic tomorrow!

There’s still last-minute work to be done, but everything should be in place by daybreak.

I mentioned the official opening on my primary site, the Ad Astra Traffic blog, too. I even mentioned it on my little blogger blog. That’s what I call excited.

Ad Astra Team Site in Place

We have a rudimentary version of the talent-facing Ad Astra Traffic site in place. This will serve as HQ for Ad Astra Traffic team members and as an info-source and contanct option for those interested in being part of AAT.

The service itself is currently servicing a handful of pre-launch clients. We’re not officially kicking the doors upon until October.

Oh, if you’re a freelancer or are interested in a little side gigging, visit the site and become part of the team.

This isn’t my primary site or blog. If you want to know what I’m doing, why I’m doing it, how well I’m doing it, what I think about it and what’s coming up next, check out CarsonBrackney.com. I have a few other “real” sites, too.

As a WordPress user with a WordPress account, it just seemed like a good idea to stake a claim to my name’s URL here. I did the same thing with a free Blogspot blog. I use that one to provide quick updates about what I’m doing online, because I don’t feel a need to pollute the Twitterstream with stuff like “created weird little WordPress blog with little readily visible utlity” and for a few other reasons that probably aren’t all that interesting to you.

I’ll probably use this blog to echo Big Announcements. Aside from that, who knows.
